Water baptism is a significant milestone in the life of every Christian. At The Cathedral, we believe that water baptism is a biblical teaching and sacred practice for true followers of Christ. Baptism is an important step of obedience in a believer’s life as an outward acknowledgment of the salvation experience that has already taken place. And it represents the death of our old self, and mirrors the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 6:4 says, “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (NIV)
